Sherman Davis, Jr., Esq., MBA
Founder and Managing Partner

Mr. Davis is the Managing Partner of The Law Offices of Sherman Davis, Jr., PLLC, based in Manhattan, New York, and also the Managing Partner of Debonair Consulting & Management Group, LLC, Debonair Talent Management Group, LLC, and Debonair Sports Management Group, LLC. He is a member of the New York Bar Association and obtained his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Florida; B.S., Business Administration, from Louisiana State University and studied Broadcasting and Media at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. Prior to being Managing Partner at his law firm and consulting and management firm, Mr. Davis previously worked at Business, Media & Sports Law Firms such as Ligon Law Group and interned in Legal Counsel at Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). Prior to his legal career, Mr. Davis was a Risk Advisory Manager and Consultant at KPMG, LLP, in addition to other consulting firms such as Premier Choice, LLC, and CNM, LLP. Mr. Davis is an active philanthropist and is currently a Board Member of the Legacy Entertainment and Arts Foundation, Inc. (L.E.A.F) 501(c)(3) and NOLA League 501(c)(3), both focusing on the advancement of entertainment, arts and sports exposures and opportunities for youth globally. 

As a consultant, Mr. Davis specializes in Advisory & Risk Compliance, Business Management & Strategy, and Financial Reporting. Former clients include Fortune 500 Companies such as Southwest Airlines (SWA), Government Agencies such as the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Mr. Davis additionally has in depth academic consulting credentials including studying Accounting and Internal Audit from the #1 ranked LSU Center from Internal Audit (LSU CIA Program) and interning in the Business Consulting and Risk Advisory Practice for corporations such as International Business Machines (IBM). Mr. Davis has received numerous accolades including “Most Outstanding Oralist” from the LSU CIA Program and the “National Best Advocate/Negotiator” at the National Negotiations Competition in Washington, DC. Additionally, he has advocated in front of the United States Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito as a finalist in the Board of Advocacy Moot Court Championship. In law school Mr. Davis served as Public Relations Chair for the Intellectual Property Student Association (IPSA) and Sports and Entertainment Law Society (SELS). He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA), & Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Kelly Torres, Esq.
Practice Group Lead, Immigration

Ms. Torres obtained her Juris Doctor from Florida International University College of Law, where she was an Associate Member of FIU Law Review, and additionally obtained her Bachelor of Arts., magna cum laude, from the University of Central Florida. Ms. Torres has interned at the U.S. Department of Justice and worked at the Legal Aid Society of New York City, in addition to firms such as Amoachi & Johnson, PLLC. She is a member of both the Florida and New York Bar Associations and leads the firm’s Immigration Practice Group, focusing on Business Immigration, including E1/E2, H1-B, and L1A Visas. Additionally, she spends time between New York and Miami as a team member of Debonair Management Group, LLC, providing client services as a consultant and assistant talent manager. In addition to her academic credentials, work experience and robust skill sets, Ms. Torres is also fluent in Spanish.

Justin Maya, J.D.
Clerk

Mr. Maya obtained his Juris Doctor from Florida International University College of Law, graduating in the top percentile of his class, and also obtained his Bachelor of Science from Florida State University. While receiving his Juris Doctor, Mr. Maya obtained an Intellectual Property Certificate, requiring in depth studies in areas including: Copyright Law, Trade Mark Law, Intellectual Property Law and International Intellectual Property. Throughout his studies, he was a member of FIU Law Review and Moot Court, and an active member of the Intellectual Property Student Association (IPSA) and Sports and Entertainment Law Society (SELS). In addition to his Intellectual Property studies, Mr. Maya focused on Entertainment Law and attained practical legal experience at multiple law firms such as Santucci Priore, PL., and Pollack, Pollack & Kogan, LLC.; conducting legal research, contract negotiations, Business Law litigation, Intellectual Property licensing and drafting client correspondence documents. Additionally, Mr. Maya spends time between California and Miami as a team member of Debonair Management Group, LLC, providing client services as a consultant, booking agent and assistant talent manager.
